Buspass holders in Beds & Herts

Little advertised but a handy way to say money for holders of bus passes issued in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

This isn’t advertised by the TOC as it would cost them quite a bit of money.

Holders of concessionary bus permits issued by [FONT=&quot]Bedfordshire[/FONT] County Council (including Mid Beds District Council, Bedford Borough Council and South Beds District Council), Luton Borough Council (Unitary authority) and Hertfordshire County Council (including St Albans City and District Council and Hertsmere Borough Council) may obtain 50% discounts on rail fares on the routes below after 1000 Mondays to Fridays and all day Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. £2 child flat fare tickets are valid with these fares. Please note that this offer cannot be used in conjunction with any Railcards or with GroupSave.

According to a booking office clerk today you can only get the discount if you have a bus pass which is issued by the Local Authority where you start your journey.

E.g. Luton you need to have a luton BC bus pass, and the herts/beds one is not vaild for discount.
Sandy you would need a beds bus pass and the luton/herts ones not vaild.
welwyn garden you would need a herts pass and the luton/beds not vaild for discount.

Need to get further clarification on this.
