Not my fault but might get blame

I was in the local Sports Centre Car Park on Saturday dropping my daughter off. I checked round about me and there was nothing in sight. All to be seen was the guy in the car further back (also parked in a space) was talking to his son who was further over the car park. I started reversing, continually looking around me…

My car was hit in a supermarket carpark by a car pulling out and running into the side of my car. Luckily someone else came forward as a witness and liability was accepted by the other driver.

I can't see why it should automatically be 50/50 just because the accident happened in a car park. If one driver has made a mistake, the accident is their fault.
