Free Technician's "How to?" guides
I just stumbled upon this free quarterly newsletter, from an American company, they give detailed descriptions of how various electronic gizmos on your car work and how they can be tested. They are aimed at the US market so some of it will be different to our stuff but a good read and a good source of information none the less.
They have back issues available for free download going back 10 years - bottom of the page.
