Allders 5 year warrenty - am I wasting my time?

Hi All,
I was wondering if anybody had managed to get their Allders warranty honored recently? My Sony TV which I bought from Allders 5 years ago this October has just packed up.
All I have is the receipt which states on it 5 years cover, on the back it mentions AON warranty group Ltd in the small print. I couldn't find a number on the internet for them so I called the service centre number instead. The guy who answered gave me a number for AON warranty group. AON gave me a number for Kroll. The women at Kroll told me they had been appointed administrators for Allders and that I could try getting the repairs done then put a claim in along with long list of business's / people who where all left out of pocket when Allders went bump but not to hold out too much hope!?
I think I might be wasting my time pursuing this one?

Did you pay by credit card?
Was it one transaction or was the warranty included?
Was the relevant transaction more than £100.
If you paid by credit card and it's more than £100 then your credit card company are jointly liable.
If you didn't then consider using a credit card in future.
You have virtually no chance of gettting anything from the wind up.
First people to get paid are administrators, tax and VAT, then come the "preferential creditors" e.g. staff.
You are at the bottom of the list and if they had enough money to pay you they wouldn't have gone bust in the first place.
She said what she was obliged to say but there is very little hope going down that route.0 -
No paid on debit card, never had a card credit, always thought they where the devil's spawn
however I am defiantly considering getting one just for the added protection for occasions like this! 0
