Hi,
I have some savings in an account in Ireland with Allied Irish Bank. Does anyone know the cheapest way to transfer this to a UK account, or would it be cheapest to just withdraw it in a UK branch and deposit the cash here?
Thanks

There are branches of the Allied Irish Bank here in the UK - could you not draw the money out over here?0

Are they in euro or sterling? How much are we talking here? £100? £1,000? £10,000? £100,000?0

I'm with AIB also. If you know the BIC/Swift code and IBAN of your Sterling account, you can transfer the funds using their internet banking service.
Withdrawing Sterling from a UK ATM is likely to be more expensive.0 -
A lot of people come over on the ferry and deposit in cash in person whether Euros to be converted or sterling.0
