Paints - use by date?

In my celler i have tins of paints. Some are Dulux gloss and matt white paint, Wilko brand and a white primer/undercoat tin. Most tins are more than half full. I have not opened them. Some are stored upside down as recommended by a decorator. The tins have been there for more than 5 years. Is there a shelf life/ use by date for interior paints? Can't find anything on the tin.
Shaking some of the tins i can hear liquid sloshing around. I know with some paint they seperate into two and you may have to mix it before use.
Just wondering if they are only good for the bin (in a proper way of course).
Thanks in advance for any advice given.

They sound like they''ve been stored well.........if it were me I'd pick the colour I wanted to use, stir it up and try it on a spare piece of wood or something to see what its coverage was.
Shame to bin them if there's a bit of use left in themMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
