I am a total technophobe and absolutely rubbish at anything on the computer.I cant even operate a TV remote control properly:o .I have however attemped a dive into the world of online commerce by trying to set up my own little website selling kids clothes.I have started to get stuff on sale but the web page is looking quite basic.I have a tiny logo centre top and would really like to get a big impressive banner logo on there instead.I have seen loads I like on other peoples web pages but I have no idea how to make one myself. The logo I use now was a vista print logo which I edited online and copied and saved as a jpeg. Can anyone tell me how to do my own decent logo, preferably direct me to a site where I can make my own for free.I also need to know how to get it the size I want.Absolutely no clue so be gentle with me and keep it very simple please:D .

Adobe Photoshop, but can be very hard to work for a technophobe, I'd get someone to do it professionally IMO.0

You can always have a little play around first and see if you can make anything you like - all you will have lost is time, and you might learn something.
Remember, you can't take photos and things directly from websites if you are going to use them in your logo - you must use your own photos or drawings from scratch, or buy photos for commercial use, otherwise you will be infringeing copyright.
I would download "The Gimp" which is a free imaging program -
http://www.gimp.org/downloads/
Click on "Download Gimp 2.4.6" and follow the instructions on your screen, then double-click on the file when you have downloaded it, and it will install The Gimp for you.
There are lots of tutorials on the net, type into google "Gimp Banner tutorial" for example and you get loads. This is a good one: Baby Steps with The Gimp:

Good luck!I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0 -
Bit of advice: Beware typing gimp into a search engine, try it when you are own your own or at least not when any children are around.0

Photoshop isn't free, but you're right, it can be tricky to design something 'good' even if you know you're way around PS.
I'd go with either playing with The Gimp or looking speaking to a Multimedia/Deisgn student and see if they can knock up something for free/a few beers.0
