Smile - Switching from HSBC

I am just going through the process of applying for a Smile current account, to change over from my HSBC account in a couple of months time. Smile have mailed me back saying that they can offer me the 'SmileMore' account which is not the account I was looking as you pay £7.50 for a host of benefits that I not intend to use. Can anyone offer me advice as to whether it is worth me accepting the SmileMore account, or just sticking with my HSBC account which I am not charged for?
Thanks in advance

I'd ask them for the normal current account with no fee. If they won't provide it, tell them where to stick it. I don't see why if they can give you one, they can't give you the other. There are plenty of other good current accounts out there!0

That's exactly what I was thinking. Thanks for the advice.0

I agree but if you are thinking of going abroad in the next few months it would pay to have the smilemore account until you have returned from hol then send them a secure message to go back to a normal account (as iam going to before the next payment comes out)0

Yes, I called them and the advisor said to open the current account, and then change it when it's open. I am going travelling in a couple of months, so it pay to stick with it until I get back. Also the 12 bottles of wine will might take the edge off the monthly fee!0

I have a smile account and for the last three years have upgraded to smilemore just before I pay my holiday balance, then gone back to the ordinary current account with a simple secure message as soon as I return. This gives you family travel insurance for maybe 3 or 4 monthly payments of £7.50!
Stick with them as their service levels are spot on.Ethical moneysaver0
