HiJust had news that EON putting up my monthly electtric from £24 to £43 based on a 15% price increase and my estimated usage for year ahead. That's double!!and I only live in a small studio with no big appliances like a washing machine or dishwasher.pelase advise - when using electricity comparison sites like USwitch do you put in the estimated cost, ie £43, or the existing cost, ie £24 to compare against?and should I be looking at something that offers capped billing - I guess prices likely to be hiked again over next few monthsthanksregards

    Neither.
Look over your bills and see how many kWh you have used in the last year and use that.
As it is electricity all you need is a read from a year ago and one today as the meter registers in kWh.

That will always give the most accurate answer.
