I know it seems harsh that you have to pay 2005 prices without the prospect of 10% plus year on year gains enjoyed by people who bought earlier......unfortunately that is the price you pay for missing the boat / being a nervous FTB.

But the good news Mean machine is:

You ask What's in it for you ?

Either spend 25 years helping your landlord buy his house (and you own nothing) or buy your own house over 25 years and never pay rent / mortgage again.

Bit of a no brainer really.......

The no brainer is you my friend. and time will prove me right.

You are obviously a muppet who walks around with your eyes shut.

The £ is tanking against the dollar. Shops are reporting recrd losses. Unemployment is therefore suffering. Inflation (announced on the 18th of this month) is creaping up quite frighteningly, repossessions and debt is running out of control.

Banks and B/S are so worried they are putting up the IR on credit cards to offset the bad debts.

And clowns like you think it will go on forever.

Open your eyes to whats happening around you. With people like you around no wonder the economies going tits up.

As for me I have no debt, absolutely not 1p. I have money in the bank waiting for clowns like you to trip up. Soon as the time is right I buy, from people like you who have spent the last 2 years asleep.

Have you noticed how all the bragging that went on this site only 6 months ago about house prices has gone. Have you noticed how there are more people on the debt free forum and credit card saving forum.

Lets see where you are in 2 years time. Meet you here, share a glass of champagne with me.

    Cheers

    OMG! It's true! :T :rotfl: :j

    This is much more interesting!
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
  • How can anything be more interesting than going round in circles about the same subject day in day out?

As we know, thanks to Wallace and Gromit, the moon is indeed made of cheese, but it's not as nice as a slice of wensleydale.

OK, you make your decision, let others make theirs. I bought at a time when the so-called "experts" were predicting a property slump and it never came. About 10 years later and I'll be mortgage free come November.
  • Ten years ago would have been 1995 - at the bottom of the cycle. A perfect time to buy sir. Bravo.

But I don't disagree with the earlier post - yes, over 25 years I would rather be paying a mortgage than giving money to a landlord. Luckily I'm in a position where I can wait.

But it is a risk either way.

I'm bored with house prices now.

I need another holiday I've only been to Rome for a week and Newyork and Washington for 2 weeks this year.
maybe a 10 day caribean cruise followed by a week in vegas on the 18 December oh hang on I've already booked that :)

Glad I didnt buy a house recently cos I wouldnt be able to afford to do any of the good stuff.
  • Make the most of it nelly.

When you do get a mortgage, chances are it'll still be crippling, no matter when you buy.

That's rip off Britain for you.
