I don't think you can, so long as they were put there legitimately in the first place.
They come off automatically after 6 years from the date they were issued.LBM : March 2008

Is there no way of writing to the companys and asking them?0

You can especially if they are incorrect. You must write to both the issuer of the default and also the credit reference agency. The credit ref agency will have a dept which deals with these things and you must remember that they are not responsible for the default, just acting on info.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I did hear that the credit ref agencys oly keep them on there for 6 years because the debt companys pay them.
Does anyone know if this is true?0 -
They keep them on there for 6 years from date of default for several reasons. One being part of the data protection act...
If the default was genuine then it will ONLY come off in 6 years time. However if you pay it it will then update to "settled".
There is NO quick fix or magical eraser for your credit file if you "messed up".DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Surely you are not considering offering to pay them to remove them?
How long ago did you get them and was it because you were in default on the accounts?0 -
I think i have 6 defaults in total, 2 of which are due off this year and the rest i think over the next 4 years.
If it will get them off my file then i would pay them yes!
Also if it is marked settled, is that just as bad as a default?0
