    Not in so many words but was made to feel like that because i could'nt produce the receipt they would'nt exchange(Which was all i asked for)
  • So the next step is to ask for a contact nuber for the Area manager. Ask very politely, quietly and calmly but show that whilst you understand their point of view, it is just not acceptable to you on this occasion so you will be escalating your request. Unless the refund is for an awful lot of money you should find this oils the wheels. Unfortunately there are jobs worths in all walks of life, they just need managing!

    Playing devils advocate and in all fairness to the Asda manager its very hard to make a decision if you have no proof of purchase, especially if 28 days have passed. In reality (and within the law) they don't really have to do anything, however often stores are a bit more flexible than the law.

    As for accusing you of thieving, I don't think the manager was. I just think your store has had to bring in a policy after problems they have had.
