iPod volume

Hi all
I have recently noticed that the volume on my iPod Nano isn't as loud as it used to be.
Its a 2nd generation Nano.
The volume setting on the iPod itself is on maximum (as it always has been) so no issues there.
I know there is an option on iTunes to increase the volume, but I've never had to fiddle with that and songs were louder on the iPod before.
Is this common? Could it be down to the earphones?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Has the volume limit been changed?

You might want to be careful though; iPods are capable of playing very loudly, and you could seriously damage your ears by listening to it on full for sustained periods of time.
If you're using the earphones that came with the iPod, I would suggest you ditch them as they're not worth the plastic they're made from. Get yourself some Sennheiser or Shure earphones instead.0 -
thanks for te help marty j...the volume limit is already set to its max. Was wondering is anything else could be the prob.
I know the earphones arent great so i did buy myself some Sennheiser headphones - the sound is definitely louder but im wondering why, with the earphones, the volume isn't the same as it used to be.
Thanks for the help thoughWin £2008 in 2008 - Member no. 3950
