Hi Sindy
Do your tiling first, then fill the bath with water and do the silicone, the weight in the bath will make a better seal... leave this for as long as possible.
Hope this helps0 -
Thanks - I was confused cos people were advising me different things.0

depends how big the gap between wall and bath is.....
generally as mentioned, tile first, silicone second...
i did it before and after, but that was due to previous tiles coming of wall.... taking plaster with, even though i had patched it up, the gap was still too bigsmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

Just to confuse you !:D
I sealed first ...... then tiled ,
then resealed .
Both times with a filled bath. May be belt and braces , but no leaks.0 -
Same here.I seal the bath, then tile, then seal again but add one more component. If it is a white bath,i buy a length of white pvc quadrant from a window supplier, stick it to the wall with silicone, then seal the top and bottom.Nothing will get through all that and it looks nice. If,down the line it starts to look manky and discoloured,i simply cut the quadrant away, clean it up and re-use it.Looks brand new again.0

Thanks for all the replies. I wasn't sure if you could seal, tile then re-seal but I think that's a good option.0

As an Extra

If you buy the standard cartridge ( go for the well known makes , that promise the earth) the amount you get is far too much for a standard ( just a simple re-seal) bath.
So sealing twice !! wont cost you an extra penny , I try and remember that this is a money saving forum. Also if you havent sealed a bath before OR its been some time , you get a FREE practice :beer:0
