Mondeo fog light

Hi,

I need to replace a damaged front fog light (lens is smashed) on my Ford Mondeo (reg 53).

Apart from getting a replacement from a Ford Dealership, what are my alternative sources where I can get it at a reasonable price.

I'm assuming that as the lens is broken, the whole unit needs to be changed.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    try ebay or try http://www.fordpartsuk.com/

they are usually cheaper than main dealers.

Just a thought - I wonder if there are any oem or aftermarket fog light protectors/guards you could get cheap as well. I think you more often see them on 4x4's though.

A scrapyard would probably be cheapest.

I usually pick parts like that up from ebay (after checking what new prices are as well)

I think a new Fiesta foglight was just over £50 from a Ford main dealer.

My last ebay purchases were a rear light for my Astra (56reg) and a new rear bumper. These were both well under vauxhall prices.

Thanks to everyone who's replied so far, you've been very helpful.

I had quote from a local Ford Dealer for £73.61 inc. VAT

I also have a quote from Europarts for £31.14 inv VAT, but they say it's an 'aftermarket' part.
Is there any problems with this unit not being genuine Ford? I realise it's less than half price compared to Ford dealership.

I have not tried Findapart or Partsgateway as yet and I'm currently searching thro ebay. I called up some scrap yards in my region but no luck there.

    Any more ideas/advice appreciated.
  • I have purchased lots of non genuine lights and fittings from my local lucas electrical supplier. They fit just as well as genuine parts but much cheaper get out the yellow pages and look for your local lucas dealer.
