Hi,
I am currently with British Gas and Southern Electric and I have never switched before and am consideribg doing it now and need some advice on the following please:
# I used Energyhelpline to compare costs but was unsure about the figure to use for Kwh for the Electricity as its just says 'units' used. Is that Kwh figure?
# Here are my readings for the last year (assuming I got the kwh assumption correct above): Gas: 19,134 Kwh and Elect 3317 'units'.
# BG Click Energy5 Tarrif came up tops but what's it like?
# It looks like British Gas Dual Fuel is the better option but how do I maintain the online readings to ensure I pass to it to BG on time? what happens if I don't?
# Am I able to cap the tariff easily and do it now? I guess this is worth doing even if it costs more at the moment to cap.
# How long does it take to make the switch?
# Currently, my Elec is in credit by about £74 and my Gas is in debit by £153.
How does this affect the switch process? I assume you have to ensure that bith Gas and Elec accounts need to be in credit before the switch happens. Is that correct?
# My Gas DD payments have shot up (as advised on my last statement) and I also need advice on how I can approach BG to get this lowered. Any techniques I can use?
# What is the best place to get cashback if I switch, from experience? use Energyhelpline or something like quidco or both?
# Are there any better cashback sites apart from quidco?
# What is the actual process involved to get the cashback and how long does it take to receive it?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I quite like using USwitch and if you can get a better deal than your current supplier, which I know you can, 12 free bottles of wine goes down a treat.

Thanks NpowerUser for that info, very useful.
Can anyone else help with answering all or most of my questions please ??
Thanks a lot.0 -
I've never liked uScam, (uSwitch) will never forget them for their years of scamming and trying to force all suppliers to pay them for being listed or not be listed at all. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
