  • Hi guys.

The only things that i can think of that have changed since joining is i've had a couple more kids & our income is lower..... plus i've got older lol.

Well i got an email from them which made no sense to me at all.

Loads of info about their privacy policy

They still said they couldn't reactivate my account & then at the end of the email.... said they'll let me log in & get my points but i had to do with by Nov 30th
So i went straight on there & managed to log in & get my points.
Glad i emailed them & had a moan that they'd taken my points as i had a little over £35 on my account. I lost some points but it was just less that £2 but i'm glad i managed to get the £35 out.

I'm still none the wiser about what i've done wrong.... no point emailing them again as they've stated twice that they won't reactivate my account.

Glad you at least got most of your money from them daisy.

I don't lie on the surveys either but your story has got me worried as I have approximately £100 worth of points accumulated with Ipsos, I think I had better get my bottom in gear and decide which vouchers I want :D I'd be gutted if I lost that amount after all my hard work
  • I don't belong to Ipsos and never have done, but I had a bad experience a while ago with Global Testmarket.

I didn't qualify for a lot of their surveys, but I liked the fact that they gave you a small token number of marketpoints just for trying. After a VERY long time I built up enough marketpoints to request a cheque, but it never turned up and when I tied logging into the site it wouldn't accept my password.

Each time I requested a password reminder, it was the same one I thought it was. But it wouldn't work anymore. Then I noticed something weird. Let's assume my password was 'mayhem'. Well, the emails they kept sending me would show the password like this:

    fraud_mayhem

However 'mayhem' wouldn't work as a password and 'fraud_mayhem' wouldn't work either. I'd also not received a cheque I had requested some months previously, so I gave up and sent them a message asking where on earth was my cheque and received this odd and very bizarre reply:

Thank you for your inquiry. While processing your request we collected
substantial evidence supporting you maintain multiple GlobalTestMarket accounts, or are suspected of engaging in fraudulent activity. GlobalTestMarket reserves the right to terminate any account suspected of committing such activity and further forfeiting all MarketPoints earned from said accounts.

GlobalTestMarket does not reveal how investigations are conducted or the measures taken to investigate accounts. GlobalTestMarket does not provide the specific evidence of the fraudulent activity either. This
policy is a precaution to prevent future circumvention of our fraud
measures and investigations. GlobalTestMarket always errors on the side of the member and the evidence must be overwhelming to result in account termination. The evidence in your case was overwhelming. Therefore your accounts were terminated, and upon account termination all associated MarketPoints are forfeited.

Several weeks of bitter and angry emails followed. I pointed out to them that apart from having recommended my sister (who lives in Brighton) and a work colleague in Edinburgh my account wasn't connected to any other accounts which could possibly be construed as being multiple accounts and I repeatedly asked them to provide proof of this. Their response was that they didn't have to. They had collected 'substantial evidence' which they weren't going to reveal to me!!!

Needless to say, I never got my cheque and my MONTHS of responding to surveys went unrewarded. What these people didn't seem to understand was that it was as much as I could do to clear my inbox with the emails they kept sending me, had I maintained the multiple accounts as they were suggesting, I would have had to go without sleep in order to keep answering the surveys. And that was without all the other survey sites whose emails I had to respond to as well!

What it comes down to is that they are happy to take your labour, but they'll do anything they can to avoid paying you, even if it means falsely accusing you of fraud.
  • people do always say dont count on the money til it arrives....
im currently awaiting my first £50 from yougov....
    THANK MEEE:j

Everyone says pinecone is great but they've never contacted me. I signed up and added them to my included email list etc, but never heard anything from them and its been at least a month. Not great really.

Same, and I tried signing up about two months ago!

Also I am very annoyed at Juicy Brains; I never even got an e-mail saying they were shutting down. How bizarre. Luckily I don't have much in my account but it is still my money and I would like to have it!

I have signed up to a few of these in the past, but got so little out of them that I stopped bothering.

The only one I do now is 'Shopper thoughts' through tesco - I get 150 points per survey, they don't come out very often, but when I get my tesco vouchers there's normally 300 points which is £3 in tesco vouchers or £12 if I spend them online.
