Been with Toluna a while, points takes ages to credit, get screened out of loads but in past few months, i have got to 2 vouchers.

Springboard, useless for me, i never get anything from them, made £2 only in last few months. Once i hit harget they are on way out.

I only have a few good sites, valued opinions, ipsos, populus, pinecone and toluna. Rest are rubbish for me. But its more than enough for me. I am happy with a voucher here and there.

Mysurvey could also be worth a look, I've had a handful of surveys which I've completed but were not paid for but on the whole they do pay up. Yougov are worth joining (as mentioned above) even if they take years and years to get to cash-out because they don't tend to scam you.
  • Question: Does anyone let survey websites have access to your cookies?

Does it let them view anything such as your pictures etc on your computer, and personal data?

What access do they actually have by viewing your cookies?

I think it just lets them see what other websites you've been to that had tracking cookies on them, or what internet ads you've seen. I've taken to doing surveys in Private Browsing mode on Firefox, which limits cookies to the current private session, mainly because sometimes cookies can prevent you from doing a survey because you've already done it on a different survey site.

Hypothetically it could allow them to gain your login details for any site that you allow to remember those details (when you tick a "Remember me" or "Log me in automatically" box on a site when logging in, that info is stored in a cookie). In reality they use it to view what ads and trackers have set a cookie on your computer. Having said that, in these days of sites being hacked left right and centre, it would only take one breach of a survey site to gain your login details to all manner of other sites. So personally I would never allow it, nor allow access to my webcam or install any survey software on my computer or phone. Many will say they allow all that and never have a problem, but personally the data and files on my computer and phone are worth more than an extra couple of quid from a survey site.

I do all my surveys on Internet Explorer as some don't work in Firefox (or at least in Firefox with certain addons) and run CCleaner between different survey sites to clear cookies :)

Interesting - I've just logged on to this thread to ask about a program I've been 'invited' to download for MySurvey (Consumer Input Software), which will give me some bonus points for signing up and regularly thereafter, and also allegedly invite me for more surveys. I was wondering whether to go ahead, but perhaps not...
:A A million thanks to everyone who posts :A

Yeah, I got that 'invite' too, and as with all survey sites that want you to install software to track your browsing it won't be getting installed here ;)

I give up counting how many times I'm asked to download this "tracking" software. I did this twice before with two different sites, both times it slowed down my computer and one occasion, trying to download a free virus/spywear protection trial I was warned about it causing things to slow down!

I get the feeling it's the same company every single time (Neilson) and as a result don't think it's changed at all. I also worry that as with some software, once it's on the computer it wont be totally off- I don't have anything to say either way because I've got a new computer now and can't therefore track back. I also ended up through various faults having to wipe the previous computer several times but to be honest, I'm not going to risk it. Ever! (And offering me £1 a month or whatever is definitely not going to change this!!)

Has anyone used survey sites before -

you answer surveys and you get paid for it.

I have been using mysurvey.com and I get a few a week, so far i have reached £7.75, but there have been a few occassions were I've answered stuff and it hasn't been updated, so i've not been paid.

Has anyone else had experience with this particular site, or others. Do you thing they are worth the time or not? Do you think the rewards are adaquate for the time?
