My Tosh 28zh36p switched itself off on Friday morning. The standby LED turned to red, and the LED next to it under the clock symbol turned green after 2 or 3 flashes. I can get it back on if I switch on but image is now centred on the screen squeezed into a narrow vertical strip. It then goes off again.
I have googled this but most replies are in engineer speak and in the USA. It *seems* a common problem and fixable. However, I'm not fluent in engineer so not too confident to march into the TV repair mans shop and tell him to replace the xyz board.
Any advice would be helpful, is it fixable and what do I ask the repair man to do?
PS No inclination in teaching repair man to suck eggs, but like to be seen as keen and not open to being ripped off.
