It's a completely separate issue, really, but I was reading recently that more and more men are winning custody battles, particularly in cases where their ex-wives are career driven, and the courts think that the child is best off staying with the parent who has stayed at home the most (even if that parent is unemployed).surreysaver wrote: »It is when either men think it is women's work, or indeed women who think that men are incapable of it.0 -

I read something along those lines too. Was the figure 40% of custody cases are now won by men? If so, we are slowly getting there, but it needs the extra push by allowing men to take maternity leave if the mother goes back to work. And it's not a completely separate issue - its all tied in - women/men/work/childcare/maternity leave/custody and the Governments inequal equality laws.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
The company I work for must be in the minority then. We pay women at statutory level only, but men get paid above the statutory rate for paternity pay. (This is in a female dominated industory). VERY unfair!0

Or you could view it that your employer has recognised the unequal legislation, and pay more to men to up it to what the SMP rate is!I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
