Saucony is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of running shoes and to celebrate the newest addition to its range, Saucony has kindly agreed to give a pair of Type A 2’s away free to five 220 Triathlon readers.

Based in Boston, Massachusetts, the company has a ‘track record’ in shoemaking going back to 1898, with its UK arm operating out of Portsmouth for over 20 years. The new Type A 2 (pictured) has already been widely acclaimed by athletes, with its blend of lightweight cushioning and flexibility providing a great feeling shoe for racing and faster-paced training runs.
The shoe tips the scales at a featherweight 195g, but as Saucony’s lightest racing shoe, this racing flat features a midsole that maximises rebound. Meanwhile, the Type A 2’s open, breathable mesh upper and midsole drainage system keep feet cool and dry, even in the heat of race day. Along with Saucony’s performance apparel, it also helps maintain Saucony’s position as a key player in the supply of triathlon gear to athletes worldwide.
The Type A 2 normally retails for £70, and is suitable for all distances up to half marathon, or even the full marathon or Ironman distance for those of you with a very neutral running style. To learn more about your own running style, visit one of Saucony’s ShoeLab days at sports shops across the UK. To find out when the next ShoeLab day near you is, and for information and stockist details on the whole Saucony range, the place to head to is www.saucony.co.uk.
