Hello, I have a small leak in my car sunroof (which is now fixed) but it let water get on the back seat of my car, and now some mould has grown on the back seat, along with a nasty mould smell. I've just been to Sainsburys and Homebase to see what they had and I now have:
1) some polycell mould killer spray from homebase - I think this is meant for windows and it looks like a strong fungicide, but could I use it on upholstery? Is this going to be toxic or if I let it dry for the next five days will it be safe to sit in the car?
2) Some upholstery cleaner spray from sainsburys - meant for sofas but I assume will be ok on cars?
3) General purpose spray cleaner (lemon flavour).
I'm tempted to try the upholstery cleaner first, and then go onto the more serious stuff (fungicide) if that doesn't work. I'm not convinced by the general lemon cleaner spray thingy.
Any ideas much appreciated - in particular whether using the fungicide spray from homebase is a dangerous idea? I don't fancy poisoning myself!
Thanks!!

I haven't used the polycell mould remover, but frequently use the dettol mould & mildew remover. I would not use this on upholstery at all....it contains bleach (as many of my tops now show)0

Thanks very much! I went with the upholstery cleaner and it seems to have done the trick thus far... :j0 -
Try a weak solution of amonia.... I know it works getting rid of milk smells in cars and thats bad smell!! but i would make it weak if its on upholstery?0
