Web sites for Florida rentals?

Hi,
What web sites have you used for booking villa's, apartments, beach cottages for 2 people in Florida.

Looking to go in September and to stay on the Gulf side preferably within steps of the beach.
From Clearwater down to Sanibel.
Or have you been and stayed in a fantastic Motel, Hotel etc that you can recommend.

Thanx

We're staying in Longboat Key next April when we go. We've stayed in Lido Key before. We found it to be a really nice area.

We've booked a house through Coast to Coast Vacation Rentals. I've found them to be really good and very helpful with every question i've asked - and trust me there have been lots. We wanted to get things exactly right so kept asking little things. Their website is:

    http://www.longboatrentals.com/

I also looked at and contacted lots of different places in Vacation Rentals.

Hope it helps a little. xxx

Thanks so much for your reply, This is the exact area im thinking of staying, really like the look of Longboatkey, Lido Key and Siesta Beach. were thinking of staying for a week in this area and then moving to somewere else for the remaining few day's (not sure where yet)

Did you find Lido Key to very quiet? Can i ask where you stayed and would you recommend it?
Were you able to walk to resturants & shops from where you stayed? (Armands Circle)
Why have you chosen to stay in LBK this time round?

Sorry to ask these questions but like you a also want it to be the perfect get away.

We were in this area a couple of years ago and stayed 2 nights on Anna Maria Island on the way up to Clearwater beautiful, beautiful place im sure you agree.

i'll have a look at now at the websites you mentioned.
    Thanks again:D

We have been down the gulf coast a couple of times and are going back next year.

Lido Key is very nice & seemed to be popular with older people. Great shops & restaurants at Armands Circle.

Our fav place to stay is Siesta Key - fantastic beaches, beautiful sunsets, very chilled out. Great for snorkelling & shell collecting.

Last time we stayed at the Banana Bay Club which is 200/300 yards from the beach. It was run by an English couple and had everything we needed. They have two locations, one beach side & one lake side. We stayed beach side which has the large pool. You can use the pool at either one and the lakeside one has kayaks to use on the lake.

Hope you have a great time.

If you get chance check out Sharky's Restaurant, a few miles further south than Siesta Key. Fantastic food on the pier, over a beach where you can hunt for Sharks teeth.

We stayed in a house in McKinley Drive (It was called High TIde) - if i remember rightly. It was about a 15 minute walk into the circle and about a 10 minute walk to the beach. We loved it - it was very relaxing. The house was on a waterway so we had dolphins and manatees basically in our back garden daily.

We loved Lido Key - it is pretty quiet but there are lots of lovely restaurants in the circle and to walk around was just beautiful.

We really wanted to go back to Lido Key this time but we couldn't find a house that was available for the time we are going. It is also more expensive in Lido Key than it is in Longboat Key to rent a place. The last time we went we went on a family holiday and my boyfriend's dad paid for the house as a treat to us all - this time we're going on our own with some friends so are having to budget a little more.

Longboat Ley is only a couple of miles along the road so we will be going to the circle almost every night i'm sure.

Please don't hesitate to private message me if you want any more info. I've done a lot of research into the area. It costs too much to get it wrong. xxx
