Cheapest Birmingham to Totnes return childs train ticket please?

My daughter and her friend (age 14) would like to travel from birmingham to totnes return. It would be for a few days stay in August, and the dates are flexible. Could one of the train ticket experts please advise on the cheapest tickets and how to get them. Thanks!

There is a direct service from New Street-Totnes at 10 mins past the hour, coming back at 50 mins past the hour. I tried, out on the 11th back on the 14th and there are fares available for £15p.p. return. These are advance singles and need to be booked as soon as possible. the disadvantage of these cheap fares is that they will have to travel on the day/time booked. A more flexible saver ticket is £34:50p.p. return.0
