Cold/Flu

Please can anyone advise me i started off with a bad sore throat early last week and now have full blown head cold, with aching limbs having to go to bed on and off - i have taken the usual cold remedies but nothing is shifting it - the reason i ask for any advise is i am due to go on holiday tomorrow - and unless i feel better i really dont think i will be able to go
Any advise as to how i could shift it or make it feel easier would be appreciated
