This is something I've done before but now can't manage to do it anymore.
I am using version 8 of PSP, and know that previously I've been able to very easily merge two images together. But can't remember how I did this but know it was very easy!
Specifically I have a scanned in watercolour print that I need to add some hand-written text to. The text has also been scanned in and is in a separate file.
I've tried selecting the text using the rectangular selection tool and then copying it on to the other image using all the available copy options, but each time I get the white background which obviously isn't wanted, as all I want is the black text merged over the existing print.
I've decreased the colour depth on the signature to two colours so the text is just black and white.
This is driving me mad as I know it's possible!

Don't you need to select the text itself? This should be possible using the magic wand tool:

Then copy and paste onto your image.Charlie0 -
Also, are you pasting as new layer?0

The scanned text, I'd export as a gif and set the white background to be transparent. Then open it, copy and close. Paste as new selection and position, then merge down.0

I think this might be the way to do it, although not sure how to set the background transparent, but will investigate. I find PSP so esoteric and difficult to use.0
