Cruise Help - First Time

My brother wants to take our mum, his wife and baby on a cruise in the 2nd two weeks of August this year. He was quoted an extra £1,000 for the baby and extra £2,500 for mum as she was travelling alone. I can`t remember who this was with or where they were even going to but they are happy to go anywhere. Must leave from north west area though. i.e. Liverpool or close to. Has anyone got any good sites for cruises which are a lot cheaper than this.

    Few points here.........

    - I doubt youll get much choice in cruise lines sailing from Liverpool/North West, except for the IOM Steam Packet!!! Those that sail from UK are generally Dover or Southampton.
    - Sounds like the mum has been quoted a separate cabin, which are usually priced for a single person as the same as two people.
    - Most ships will have cabins for four people, so as long as they dont mind the mums snoring, thats an option
    - Baby - example from the NCL website ............Infant 6 months up to 2yrs† £149
    - Sites - speak to Gills, Virgin Cruise, cruise.co.uk for different options/prices etc.

Fred Olsen are the only cruise line I can think of that depart from Liverpool.

The link below shows the Fred Olsen cruise departing Liverpool Monday 18th August for 13 nights the last two weeks in August. Prices are very reasonable and have gone on offer to 'Guarantee' prices (see bottom of price list). They are one of the cruise lines who are most price friendly for cruisers who want a single cabin, too.

I have just looked up child prices in the brochure and under 2's in a cot in parents' cabin pay £10 per night (£130 in the case of the cruise mentioned above)
