A lot of cats are house cats, and perfectly happy that way.
The point being to lots of people keeping a cat permanently indoors and the windows shut is a bit weird and keeping the lodgers deposit to cover deflea-ing a cat because it got out may not be seen as fair or reasonable as it's not exactly a standard tenancy clause...0 -
my cat has the oppurtunity to go out side if he wants to have done since he was dumped on us he goes to the front step and runs straight back in because hes scared so i would class him as a house cat
as for deposits reasonable cleaning can be taken out of the deposit and if you have had to clean up smoke smells etc then i would suggest you keep the deposit as for the cat getting flees then its not entirely this girls fault its something that happens to cats etc
