i have microsoft vista the pc has lockerd me out of the admin acc. says wrong pass word even though i know its the right one. now cant add new software. does anyone know how to change the pas or get round it? thanks

I can confirm that this suggestion works, having used it successfully in the past - but forgot that it works on Vista as well as NT & XP...

The problem with the second solution as opposed to the first is that it rewrites the password, rather than recovering it. This means that it may render some of your personal documents unreadable, depending on your security settings
