Summer Holidays Challenge !!

Options
I was rambling earlier on my diary about earning money during the summer holidays and have decided to aim to make £1000 during the six weeks school holidays. This money will come from the usual sources but will mean I need to make a fair bit more effort than usual to meet the target ;)

So far my thoughts include:
  • matched betting
  • ebay
  • car boot sales
  • mystery shopping
  • err, not too sure what else yet but I still have 3 weeks to think of some more ideas ... :D
So, are there any there t.a's / teachers / anybody really ;) who would like to join me?? I know last summer we ran a similar challenge and it worked well, yes its a bit early yet but it gives us a couple of weeks to plan, think of ideas and book mystery shops etc. :D:D

Good luck! My personal challenge is to cut back and clear as much as poss in july so that I can ease of in the hols and be able to take the kids out. I open my sealed pot on Aug 1st, fingers crossed there is a nice amount in there for icecreams and treats :)

Could you list some stuff on amazon, do free bingo :)
  • I am IN!

brilliant motivation for my e baying frezney (well it would be if I could spell it!)

    Count me in.

I am right off ebay at the moment (fed up with ebay fees and paypal fees seriously dimishing the price I think I got for my items). However, I am going to try car booting and this will give me the gee-up I need to actually do it.

I haven't done matched betting for over a year because of lack of funds to match with (used up the good stake return offers already), but will give that a go as well as I now have a pot of funds I could use.

    Thanks for being so inspirational

    Hi there fellow TA.

How about using your CRB and experience of working with children by looking into getting some work at a kids holiday club? If you have DS, you would probably be able to take him with you.

Spud, another t.a. at suggested that too as she does it, but tbh I want the 6 weeks off :o;) I'm looking at it as a challenge to find ways of making bits and pieces of money, well rather a lot of bits and pieces :rotfl:

I have just knocked up a little chart with 100 boxes on, each one for £10 and I will colour them in as I earn the money through the summer :D Forgot to mention I will be doing AQA'ing too in the evenings to make some money too ;)

Can I fall under the 'anybody' option? I am really trying to get motivated and know I will have more get up and go when the holidays are here as have OH's ds with us for 4 weeks!!!

I have a week booked off as we are juggling the childcare between us and a summer camp. As I will be out and about a lot, thought could take advantage of mystery shopping, sourcing ebay stuff etc. I'm always more motivated when the sun is shining too. :D

  • I am a supply teacher, and i need to earn the extra during the hols. I have forayed into some of the above, but really need to get to grips with matched betting..i am always bleating about it, mind i did the same about e bay and it took me 6 months to do that..so maybe i will get around to it in 6 months time.

I've been mooching the various mystery shopping sites trying to book some jobs for the end of the month to get me started on this, but so far theres diddly squat available  , well, there was one job but the fee was only 5.00 and for that they wanted you to be in the stre for a minimum of half an hour then a 57 question report   plus the 10 minute drive each way .... decided it wasn't worth the effort :o:o ... dont think I'll reach my target with that attitude lol  :D
