A brand new kitchen, a brand new bathroom, redecorate through the house, new carpets - just get everything modernised, so that when I retire, I'll have a nice comfortable house that won't need anything major doing to it. Oh, and pay for someone to sort out the garden a la Ground Force, so that it'll be easier for me to maintain once I do retire in 20 years' time.
Not sure what my sig says at the moment, but I'm looking at about 4.5 years to being debt-free and mortgage-free. Assuming I'm on the same salary as I am now, I'l have nearly £1,000 a month to spare for my plans and to save for my retirement.
When I do retire, I plan to have a month of doing nothing to finally unwind, and then I'm going to get myself a little rescue dog for company, and I hope to be able to afford to run a small runaround car, so that we can go on holidays together.
For the avoidance of doubt, I shall be saving for the kitchen and bathroom before I get them done up!0 -

Jamiedodger - I want to explore Europe too and learn a language!
My dream is to take the dog and any friends who want to come along for the ride, in a brand new campervan driving all over Europe - all the major cities, the mountains and lakes of Italy, the coastline around Northern Spain and Portugal, all of France. Would love to see the Midnight Sun and have Christmas in Lapland but most of all i want to check out all of Eastern Europe as it was always such a mysterious place as I was growing up - Oh those Russians!0 -
The first things I did was save up three months wages, worked out SO's for everything that needed to be saved for things like car tax, insurance etc and eventually, have quit the job that was badly affecting my health. So now the savings will dwindle but I'm glad I have them there!
For my parents, we are planning a big family holiday for end of 2010, it's their 25th anniversary that year and we want to do something specialNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130
