bleachable carpet???

I am looking for a carpet for our lounge/diner. It really needs to be a light colour but as it leads straight from the garden (I have a very messy little puppy) it doesnt seem very practical. On having a quick flick through my catalogue Ispotted a "bleach cleanable carpet". It doesnt give a manufacturers name and when Ive mentioned it to family and friends no one has even heard of such a thing.
Anyone ever seen one or am I imagining it?

I think you mean a 100% polypropylene carpet, ie one that has no wool in it.
These are very hard wearing & stain resistant & can be scrubbed clean, and come in many colours.
The downside is that they are rougher underfoot, as the greater the wool content the softer a carpet feels.
I use light cream or sand coloured loop pile polypropylene carpets in my rentals, & they look great. However, I wouldn't recommend a loop pile with an animal, as if you pull one loop, it starts to run the whole length of the carpet.0 -
I have a bleachable carpet in my lounge, dining room and stairs it was from an independent fitter, the colour is barley, i think its from a range called stainguard heathers, anyway it looks fantastic and is very soft underfoot and stain resistant....0

I sell these carpets, the bleachable carpets are very good. See this link for what the carpets are made of and how to maintain (see the maintanace tab)
I would go with a slightly darker colour, like barley or a darker shade of beige. Too light and you'll be forever cleaning off dirt marks. A darker beige will not show dirt as well.0 -
I have bleachable carpets and they are wonderful, very soft, deep and amazingly easy to care for. I have cream coloured carpets in my lounge and bedrooms, 2 dirty spaniels and a 7 month old baby! they look as good as the day they went down. (approx 2 years ago). We are just moving house so I am hoping to find someone who stocks them locally to get them put down in our new home. You wont regret putting them down.:)0
