Credit card with a CCJ?

Hi all,
Am after a little advice. I have a Halifax cc witha good credit limit of 5500 an dI am managing this account very well, so they have just arranged to reduce my interest for me.
I stupidly however have a ccj that is 2 years old but satisfied(only 227 pounds) and really like the idea of getting another cc to maybe be able to do a nice balance transfer and save myself a few more pennies. But my question is, will this ccj basically prevent me getting any other good deal until it drops off?
I don't want to make my credit file worse but as I say I am managing my money so much better now and wonder if I am basically stuck until this ccj falls off my file? Also does it stay on 6 years from default, judgement or satisfaction?.
What would your advice be?

I'm sorry but your CCJ will stop you getting any other cards for awhile.

Yes I have held the card for 10 years!
The CCJ really was a case of my own stupidity, I was even gonna pay it but they kept telling me to wait for this next letter - that was a court judgement!!!!! I really was not at all financially savvy and it all escalated very quickly for such a small debt - gutted is the understatement of the year!
The thing I don't understand is, despite the CCJ the Halifax keep upping my limit - is that normal?Got Halifax Classic to reduce my interest rate by 5% woohoo - 10/06/08 Thanks MSE!
