It's often the smaller things that end up with non payment, I imagine someone sitting at home thinking 'oh, it was only a couple of pounds I don't think I'll bother after all !', makes me really cross.
I have a possible at the moment, only 2 feedback and it has only been a week so I'll send a gentle reminder later today. However, looking at her other auction wins she won an identical item to mine a few days before winning mine and she has paid for and received feedback for that one. It isn't something you would want two of either, so I am not hopeful.

That makes me angry!! I gave my person a strike, another I have sent them another gentle reminder saying that if there is any problems or you feel you cannot complete the transaction please contact me!! but no contact! I shall strike them as well!! >:( Its not something I like to do but I lose money over it and if I have parcelled the good then need to re-label or even repack if I have written a note with the name of the person on >:(

yep, although I usually give quite a lot of time before I do the whole NPB thing this one has annoyed me as I really think she just can't be bothered to complete as she bought one from someone else.
I sent her a gentle e mail today asking her to contact me as soon as possible to let me know how she wished to pay for her auction win and also suggesting that if there are any problems she contact me anyway.
What I might do if payment doesnt arrive tomorrow is to request her contact details, that has panicked people into paying up before now. I'll probably call her Tuesday or Wednesday and then start the MPB process shortly after that depending on whether I can get her on the phone or not.

The saga continues... my elusive buyer did not pay up as expected. >:( I sent him another reminder a few days ago.
His reply was:
I posted a cheque first class to you last week. Did you not receive it? I am now on holiday for a week and am unable to send you another cheque. Please don't leave negative feedback! I will pay all of your auction fees when I return.
A number of points spring to mind:
1. Why say you have sent a cheque when you promised payment by Paypal on 2 seperate occasions?
2. How can you be on holiday when you are still selling items on Ebay and posting them out every day? And this is the 2nd holiday since my auction ended! I wish I had that much free time!!!
3. Promising to pay my auction fees implies that the buyer no longer has any intention of paying up.
I have emailed the buyer back and said that I am not interested in leaving negative feedback, I just want to either be paid or relist the item ASAP. I also said that I thought the best way to resolve this is to file an NPB.
I'd appreciate some advice from experienced Ebayers please!
1. Should I wait for his reply or should I go ahead and file a NPB report?
2. What about negative feedback, should I bother with this? My feedback level is less than 5 and a retaliatory neg will blow my rating out of the water. A neg will be a lot more damaging to me than him.
My own thoughts are that I should file a NPB immediately, reclaim my fees, and not bother with the feedback. Then add him to my blocked bidders list.0 -
VH you are in a difficult position. I would certainly start the NPB process, after all he still has 10 days then to make payment before you are able to complete the process and claim FVF.
As for negative feedback, it's a bit of a mexican standoff..even if you make the decision not to leave any feedback he can still leave it for you first, but on the other hand you can't be held to ransom like this and you won;t get your fees back unless you go through the NPB process.

This really annoys me too....
I have worked hard to maintain my 100% feedback of which I am very proud and in some cases have even added a few extra items when my computor has broken or something unforeseen has happened ...
NOW just because the buyer clearly no longer wants the item ( 2 reminders from me 1 from ebay ) they will be able to destroy my feedback when leaving neg-feedback for them .....
EBAY really must sort this out and NOT allow non paying bidders to leave comments
I also cannot believe how long ebay expect you to wait before returning fees is this so they can earn extra interest on your money in their bank !!0 -

All the hallmarks of a NPB and a liar I'm afraid :-/
If you havent dont already, start the FVF claim process - you'll receive your Final Valuation Fees back from eBay, and they'll kindly put a NPB strike on your buyers' account - two more of those from seperate sellers and his account goes NARU
I always follow the same procedure:
Assuming the buyer doesn't contact me -
7 days after auction end - send a payment reminder
7 days later - file a NPB alert
10 days later close the NPB process (I get my fees back, the buyer gets a NPB strike).
Unfortuantely you'll find that selling mobile phones on eBay attracts more idiots than any other catagory ... says he flogging 3 of the damn things at the moment ::)

FVF are one thing.
What about the listing fees!!!
They should pay those as well esp if buyer has used BIN to remove auction.......
Arghhhh.........
EBay is driving me nuts.
Have finally got a mail to say they are refunding me my deplted by ebay money that a non performing seller nicked in May.
But
Please allow 45 days to receive your money????
God help us all.......0 -
Hi Everyone
Thanks for the sound advice, I really appreciate it! As suggested, I am not waiting for the buyer anymore, and I have already started the NPB process.
What makes this guy so difficult is that he stays in contact and tries to stall you all the time - he would be a lot easier to deal with if he just ignored my emails, then I could get on with claiming my money back without feeling a little bit sorry for him!
From what people have said, this sounds like a textbook example of a non-paying bidder. It's just a shame that it's my first ever auction - it doesn't exactly give me a very positive view of the Ebay system when someone can muck you around like this!
Cheers
