paying childcare

My youngest goes to a private nursery shes 2 the nursery says the term after her 3rd birthday i will get 12 hrs free .

I have another daughter who is 4 she should be starting in reception class at our local school in September but i have deceided not to send her this school ,i have her on a waiting list at another school.I plan to send my daughter also to this private nursery until a place comes free at the primary school .Will my 4 year old only get 12 hrs free too ? When they are at school they dont pay and they go 9am - 3.20 mon -fri .Just to clarify something else is it right that by law my daughter doesnt need to go to school until she is 5 years old ?

    school may be free.... but ur choosing not to send her to school? so logic would tell me of course ur not going to get a free place at nursery for deciding to wait to send your daughter to school.

    The grant is available from the term after they turn 3 and is eligible for 3 & 4 year olds until they reach statutory school age (ie the term after they turn 5)

    So the short answer is yes ;)

    Your logic is not correct

    She doesn't legally have to attend school until she has turned 5. There are many reasons why a parent would choose to hold back sending a child to a particular school until this time. There is no system in place (or reason) to penalise these parents.

    Thanks mrcow i thought so but i just wanted to check

    Logic told me to if 3 year olds get it then 4 year old would prob too but just wanted to double check .
