  • I've done some mystery shopping for these, and they are very variable. Mostly good, but one really appalling filthy one recently (with loads of screaming kids and food all over the floor). And one really excellent one, with some of the best steak ever!!! :p

The questions they ask their mystery shoppers suggest to me they are a lot more concerned with staff friendliness/service than with the quality of the meals - which I guess is right, as they are primarily there to get you to buy as many drinks as possible
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

My family regularly go to a 2 for 1 pub for dinner. My favourite meal (pre diet) was what we call their belly buster. 2 lincolnshire sausages, huge piece of gammon, chicken breast, steak, fried egg, chips, peas, half a tomato all for £10.99 2 for 1. The choice is fantastic, the service friendly and a family of 4 can go out for a nice meal (2 adults, 2 kids) for less than £25 including drinks.
