  • They wanted me to have their premier account at first the one where you pay for all the perks but I refused as I didnt need them, I asked for a small overdraft but again they refused then piped up and said I could have a credit card!

of course they offered you a card instead of an overdraft - cos they know they can get more money out of you when you have difficulties paying them back !

Angle, you could keep the card for emergencies but request the limit reduced so you can stay in control.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

To all those telling me what I already know, THANKS!

The account is a Lloyds TSB Duo Amex Credit Card. Minimum payments is £15 a month, I've worked out I can pay back £50 a month though but that's when I figure out how to pay it online!

I DONT want another credit card to pay this one off, I am not that stupid. I want another current account for daily use and keep my lloyds current account to pay back the credit card so I dont use that money for other things.

Needless to say I have now cut up the credit cards. And none of the purchases can be returned.

Oh and also I was asked about income, I explained that I was on benefits and they didnt have an issue with that at all.

Log in to your internet banking homepage - from your list of accounts click on payments and transfers option - click on make a payment -set up a new recipient - pay a bill -search for Lloyds - set up payment under Lloyds TSB duo AMEX credit card - use the AMEX card number starting 3770 - bobs your uncle its sorted.

I would do a test payment of £1 to make sure everything is ok before sending a bigger one.
  • I am now refused credit cards as I have been looking for another to clear the arears on the 3 I already have a ballance transfer and monthly repayment as I cant get a consolidation loan anywhere either. I know I am in debt so I applied and was accepted for a pre-paid credit card, you put the money on it before you can use it and you use it like a debit card. I now have 2 and try to put £10 a month on each one is for emergencies and unforseen events and the other is for food shopping and outings. I know £10 not a lot but it helps top up the shopping at special times or for those top up shopping times when extra bread is required for guests or munchies for comfort food etc.

Good luck and learn by your 'mistakes' before its too late.

    :)

that's not a very helpful comment to make to someone - especially if you don't know the reason why they are on benefits

The only problem with this theory of yours is the cost of getting and using the pre paid cards.
