During the last few weeks when running Spybot S&D I keep getting the following window popping up, when I click OK the scan continues without problems, although sometimes the window pops up again, clicking OK continues.
I have been using S& D for at least 18 months about once a week and this has only started happening about 3 weeks ago, prior to that there was no problems, it does not throw up any more "threats" than usual and they are usually just cookies, or nothing, should I be worried?
This time it only found; - DoubleClick > Tracking cookie [Internet Explorer:user]
Internet Explorer[user]: Cookie:user@doubleclick.net/0
I cannot find the "include errors.log" that it refers to.
I always do the update prior to doing the scan.
I also use, weekly as well, SuperAntiSpyware, Ad-Aware SE, A-squared free, Windows Defender is also applied.

Afraid I have no answer to your problem, but I recently uninstalled all my spyware programs and installed AVG8 free from http://free.grisoft.com/ww.download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition which scans for spyware and viruses in one scan, thus saving time, Alan.Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm WELSH. .0

I did not mention, but I have AVG 7.5 ? installed and run daily, there appears to be problems with AVG8,(see threads on this site), so I am not changing yet, and Spybot S&D is different/in addition to AVG, so I would keep them both, also I think that you would need more than just AVG!Reluctant_spender wrote: »Derrick - It can not do any harm and all you lose is a little time

I think I am on version 1.4 and according to that link you supplied the latest is 1.5 ,(although I update every week before I scan), also in that thread post #4 gives a link that suggest that the problem was started 12 months ago, my problem only started about 3 weeks ago! Also on that thread,(from your link then from the link in post #4), post #37 seems to be what I would like to know, although that post is 2 months old and no one has responded!
So would I be better uninstalling whatever version I have now and installing whatever version is current?
If so where is the safest place to install the latest version as the link you point to for the latest version has a lot of variants!Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

You are out of date then, which is probably causing the problemSo would I be better uninstalling whatever version I have now and installing whatever version is current?

All those links are posted on the Official Spybot S&D site, so any of them should be safe to use.
Version 1.6 is going to be released in about a weeks time.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Should running the update each week before scanning not update automatically?

Version 1.6 is going to be released in about a weeks time.
Would I not be better waiting for version 1.6, or will that only be in beta therefore causing more problems?

If I was you, I would go with the latest stable version. That is 1.5.2.
Then, if/when version 1.6 is released on the main site, then you can upgrade again.
That way you will always have the latest stable protection.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

OK, I have downloaded and ran 1.5.2. and had no problems, it also found no threats, but that was to be expected as I only ran it yesterday afternoon, will see what happens on it's weekly scan next Saturday.
Actually it tells me it is version 1.5.2.20Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
