Standing charge or no standing charge help

Im with scottishpower online energy 4 (no standing charge)

am i right in thinking if you use a lot of gas and electric a standing charge is better?

i worked out on the prices the electric would of been cheaper on the last 1/4 but gas more because im not using it,,so the bill came in at around the same

but (i know its 4-5 months of) in the winter wouls it be better to switch the the standing charge product.

any help in clearing this one up
