5 seater car equivalent to smart car

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a new car that's cheap to run, environmentally friendly and can be converted to an LPG engine.

Ideally I would like a smart car but I need more than 2 seats.

Does anybody have any ideas of what the best cars to look at would be?

From what I have read the smallest car with the most rear seat shoulder room is the new Mazda 2.

I stand to be corrected but as far as I am aware any normally aspirated petrol engine can be converted to LPG.

If you really want economical and environmentally friendly buy a Morris Minor. The biggets environmental cost in a car is building it so buy an old car and look down on the smug Toyota Pious drivers.

If it has to be a new car, why go for lpg over diesel on a environmental issue? Why not aim for one of the 5 door hatchbacks with pollution less than 120g? Ford focus? Citroen C4?
