Help...please! Re: Home insurance for rubber roof

Hi all
Theres loads of posts on here incorporating rubber roof's and extensions which have been really helpful, but what i need to know is which insurers provide cover for houses with extensions that have rubber roofs?
Just had a near argument with the rooofer as i explained rubber roofing is a non-standard construction type, therefore most personal lines insurers will not cover (facts borne out by 2 hours online searching for quotes).. He reckons I am wrong, but I work in insurance and have done for many years. There you go.
Anyway...I heard a rumour that Halifax do it, but at vastly inflated rates, and need some more advice. Can anyone advise who do cover rubber (edpe) roofs?
Thanks for any help!
