microsoft xbox helpline number??

Options
Hello all!
Can somebody please tell me the telephone number for the microsoft xbox live helpline number as my sons xbox 360 today developed the dreaded ring of death.
It was bought as a christmas present in dec 2006 but i have heard that i will be covered for repairs under the extended 3 year warranty that xbox announced last year - can anyone confirm this for me??
Thanks all!!

If yours is unmodified and within the three year warranty period then you're far better off contacting Microsoft and arranging collection and repair than a DIY job that may or may not be a permanent solution.

Do NOT attempt to open or fix this you will make the guarantee invalid.
I had an XBox which was played to bits for 2years 10 months before the RROD. Microsoft replaced the motherboard which was guaranteed but also replaced the sticking tray & replaced the casing! (New XBox perhaps?)
    All within 2 weeks
