Still ring customer services and if they can order it into the store  - all you simply do is collect and pay for it Weds @ the store.

UPDATE :  Spoke to customer services and the chap was as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Didn't want to know the item numbers he just said - "Well that's probably because they are expecting a large delivery on Wednesday which is why they asked you to come back then."

So I said - "how can I be sure these items would be on that delivery?" -

he said "Well the store will get a delivery of all things that are low on stock."

I said that "These are not current stock items, they are old stock items."

He said "Well that's why then!"

I said "What do you mean?"

He said - "Well they are old stock - there is no more."

So I said - "Why did it come up as resevre in store for delivery Wednesday then?"  

He couldn't answer - he just repeated that you can't order old stock.

I said can you check for me anyway. He said that there was no point. If they were old stock they no longer existed.


so....according to customer servcies ,there is nothing left anywhere in the country ..... which as we know, is baloney.

And I know that you can order old stock items as I did so in Worthing earlier this week >:( >:( >:(

I spoke to 01908 690333 customer services just this morning at 11am, as I couldnt get through to my store and asked 'BEN' to check with the store to see if my reservation items had arrived. 'BEN' said they hadnt arrived and that I should not have been allowed to order these items, and that my local store had even checked the cages for these items. About 2 hours later I called up the store and they said the items are there waiting to be collected. I am now going to pick them up but I think theres definately something fishy going on.

Went to the Stretford Stores this morning but all they had was the 4 peice luggage set 285 2476 at £12.49 and 250 peice general tool kit in pop up trolley 701 6097 for £10 both had to be reserved at the till for delivery Wednesday.
On to the Manchester Arndale store to pick up Tumble Dryer condenser kit 850 5174 for £3.25 they did have more of these but had to be reserved to pick up later, also they had the 2 items above the same as the Stretford store.

Here are some other codes that came up at the Arndale store.  All had to be reserved for collection next week

and they let you make these reservations ????

I've got a 'Thompson MS2005 Midi System' (code # 5125753) reserved at the Consett store in County Durham if anyones interested. Reduced from £119 down to £59.

The staff that I have met have also tried to discourage me from making reservations for RO stock at the till, as far as I know you can only reserve things that they have available in their warehouse. So argue your point and stand firm and ask them to contact Head Office if necessary.

No I didn't reserve them for myself, I didn't need them I was just putting in codes to see what was available while waiting for my tumble dryer kit. They will be available to reserve at the till. Oh they had a couple of car dog guards in stock as well but can't remember the numbers, they will be on stumpy's list though

All this talk of deliveries, are the RO items re-distributed around the country? Does that mean that if I try to R&R one week and get a 'sorry.....', it may be available the next week?

I've never had a problem reserving RO stock at any stores, the item I picked up today was reserved last week. In fact the Manchester Arndale store has an old catalogue and a big sign saying ex catalogue stock and they also had the R O list next to it.

One of the assistants told me about it the first time I went in. There wasn't much coming up on the list today, but what was available I have listed earlier.

Keep trying most stores are very co-operative

It might just be the store that you have been in thats being awkward

Sorry - forgot to mention in last post that the Manchester Arndale has a 5125753 Thomson MS2005 Mini System £59.99 it was showing up 1 in stock.

I have one of these myself and well worth the money
