Regarding those after or have got the Samsung A800 phone - or any other item.

Check it works as soon as you get it - mine wouldnt charge at all - refused a refund, replacement (as they dont have them) or one of equal measure.

Currently my complaint is at Head Office and they know they have until Friday to sort this out or they are being reported to Trading Standards and I'm all set to go for a claim from the Small Claims Court

New to the group today, but thought I should tell you that the Argos Extra store in Leicester City Centre has tons of RO stuff going. At ten this morning they had Toshiba rear projection TV's (42 inch I think) for £400 with 28inch flat screen Toshiba's at £180. Loads of other models at 25-50% off as well.

In the centre of the store between the jewellry and collection points a small selling point has been set up - had loads of Canon G45 camcorders at £62.50 and a few G75's (with LCD screen) for £75. Lots of other stuff (digital camcorders, CD walkmans) but not as big a discount.

Treated myself to a G75 so anyone who's been looking and wants an a G45 I grabbed last month as a Christmas present let me know.

I bought a Samsung A800 for a birthday pressie, silly me didnt check it worked. Anyway it wouldnt turn on properly. Luckily still had the receipt so took it back to argos for refund as i knew they didnt have any more in stock. The woman was a right thicko. As she opened the box she could see the sim card was unused (as person whose pressie it was, was gonna use their own sim card) and said 'well it wont turn on without a sim card in it' :-/...I said yes it will cos my husbands got one the same. Anyway she was adamant it wouldnt work so she took the simcard out of box and inserted it in phone, back to front ::) and it still didnt work so i got a refund. She obviously knew nothing about mobile phones but tried to act as if she did >:(

Managed to collect the triple pack of dect phones I had reserved today....well I had reserved two sets, but only one turned up at the store

One was for Albalad.....and they will be posted out Monday.

The other was for arushofblood and I've had to pm him and apologies for letting him down.

I had the reservation slip which quoted that Qty 2 had been reserved for collection, but only 1 was found in the store. I do wonder if one of the store staff took a fancy this item? This is the same store that took the Sony 5mb Digital camera 560/0481 out of my hand at the till and said a member of staff had verbally reserved it, but that it had been forgotton to be logged onto their system. Doesn't give me much faith that the phones didn't go the same way :-/

i have just come back from metro centre. where i purchased my bbq for £22.50. waiting on delivery


and...... number 2045001 came up as purchase at jewellery counter. the queue was enormous. so i didnt bother. but it may be there if someone wants it.

Sorry, didn't note the code of the rear projection TV's down - they were selling like hot cakes so might be worth ringing the store or customer services direct rather than waste a journey. Can't find a similar model in the previous catalogue lists.

Forgot to mention also they had stacks (and I mean stacks) of cantilever and mechanics tool kits (701/6042 and 701/6262 I think)
