Feedback - How does it affect you?

Have you got negative feedback? Do you think it has affected your sales? Do you buy from people with negative feedback or do you only buy from 100% positives? Are you one of those people who will scroll through 1000's of positives to read that one negative a seller got 3 years ago and decide not to buy even though he's had all positives otherwise?
Have you got 100% positives? How would it affect you if you got a negative? Do you only buy from people with 100% positives? How do you feel about buyers and sellers who are on 0% ?
I'm on 98.5% positive. I have 1158 positives and 18 negatives for buying and selling. I must admit I'm not really into the habit of checking peoples feedback. I usually just look at the % if it's an item I'm going to spend a lot of money on. I only look at the comments then if it's a very low % .

No negs for me (touch wood) on either of my accounts. I have always been very careful not to let a transaction get so sour that it leads to this. I am addicted to reading people's feedback so always, always do this during my own sales and when buying. I won't buy if there's a poor score.0

I'm not that bothered really. After your first neg you just realise there are idiots on eBay.
As for buying from people I am not that bothered about feedback unless its a high value item. I left the temptation to buy a laptop which looked too good to be true off a 0 feedback sellerWycombe Till I Die0 -
I have one neg (& 224 positive). If I'm looking to buy, I'm not bothered about the seller having 100% feedback but I will look at how many negs they have, how often and the comments (always the most juicy bit of any feeback;-)))
As has been said already, there's enough idiots on ebay so one or two negs doesn't mean a bad seller (I suppose a comparison would be do you assume someone is a bad driver if they've got three points from a speed camera - please don't answer that here it's for a different board). What I think matters more is how they deal with the negs - if they post factual polite feedback I'm more likely to deal with them than with someone who has left abusive comments - regardless of the merits of the original dispute.
I will also consider the value of the transaction against the feedback record - talked my OH out of bidding £80 for a dressing table recently as buyer had (I think) three negs in last 3 months & only 20 positives in the same period - all negs were for same reason.
With regards to OP's comments, if only one or two of their 18 negs were in last (say) 4 months then I doubt I'd look much further - I'd be happy with that sort of record. Likewise, I'd be reluctant to spend more than about £10 buying off someone with single digit feedback from other buyers.Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -

I agree to a certain extent, its impossble to please everyone so theres going to be negs.
For me I have only got 1 netural and all the rest positives out of 724 feedbacks.0 -
I have a rule not to buy from anyone below 98% but on the whole it's really instinct. (I've 100%
)
I read someone say that sometimes negative feedback can actually be a good thing as people can see the way you dealt with a dispute, and in a strange way I think that is the case - Seeing the way a seller responds to a neg gives you a lot more insight into the seller than a 100% record!0 -
That's a good point. I'll use that as my excusesra wrote:I read someone say that sometimes negative feedback can actually be a good thing as people can see the way you dealt with a dispute, and in a strange way I think that is the case - Seeing the way a seller responds to a neg. gives you a lot more insight into the seller that a 100% record!
