Maintaining car battery- advice wanted!

if its going to be left for a month unattended i would get the 2.4w trickle charge one. unless the higher watt one will switch off when the battery is charged.
or just disconnect the battery when he is away....work permit granted!0 -

I'd agree, except the only problem being if there's a heavy draw on the battery, that drains it, even the 4.8W one won't solve the problem.

or maybe it is a cheap battery and its knackered as it is 15 months old and fitted to a fairly large engine....work permit granted!0 -

The battery was replaced by the main dealer so I doubt it would have been a cheap one
I will tell him to get the 2.4W one and he can try it the next time he is away!
