Ebay (pulling hair out)

Well since ebay have brought in the new feedback system, I am about to pull my hair out as I have listed a few items on bin & over the last week, I have 5 people win & not pay ???? I think that if people win & don't pay, that ebay should be able to make a note in there feedback, for other to see that they haven't paid.....

Ok I feel better now for getting that off my chest.

Make sure you go through a full NPB, that is far more damaging to a buyer than a neg.

I've had a lot more non paying bidders recently, unfortunately this is one of the results of ebays stupid feedback changes. I'm going to leave ebay soon, I can't wait :D
    Finally bought a home
    Starting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £192,586.98/CENTER]
    Overpayments since 27.03.19: £52,407.47
  • Don't forget you can offer the item to the next highest bidder. I know you don't get so much money and it isn't really the point of your post but it is there to help you sell items if the buyer reneges on the deal.

eBay is going downhill and pretty fast. They grew too quickly, failed to keep on top of the problems and now this new feedback malarky is the worst possible thing they could have introduced

If offering a buy it now you can switch to 'instant payment required' which stops non payers. It means only accepting Paypal but if you are getting paid it makes a difference.

As Soolin said make sure you file a non paying bidder report, accessible from the item page or from your My Ebay console, you will get your final value fees refunded, the buyer will receive a strike. You (and others) can set your buyer requirements to exclude those who have had strikes in the past month or past year, there are other requirements you can tick which can cut down on some non payers, not sure that negatives ever stopped them, just alerted sellers after the event.

Not on a buy it now!

  • The OP doesn't make clear whether they mean the buyer didn't pay straight away/quickly or whether they didn't pay within the 7 days allocated time.

Yes, well spotted. The OP says 'over the last week' which implies that they are still within the 7 days allowed by ebay for payment. In that case, send a gentle reminder on day 7 and then if you still haven't been paid open the NPB on day 7. In future if payment is needed urgently by you just go for the BIN with immediate payment suggested above.

    Hi Sorry,
The 7 days have elasped & no payment, it just really annoys me, when no contact is made, especially on a buy it now.... I sent a gentle reminder, no response so I open the NPB on day 7 & guess what, she responses saying that she hasn't used her ebay account for ages, & she no longer wants the item, as she was buying for someone else!!!! when I look at her feedback she has been very busy buying..... hmmm, anyway, with the new feedback in progress, I am just worried I will get a neg through it????
& I have two other items that people have brought on bin & we are on day 5 at the mo no payment no contact nothing..... ahhh
    Thanks for all you help

gingababe, make sure you close the dispute and choose the option to give buyer a strike. If she is doing this to other people and they go through the NPB on her as well she will be suspended very quickly and any feedback she leaves for you will be removed if she is new to ebay.
