cleaning conservatory roof

Any ideas for cleaning our conservatory roof? Its looking rather dirty and green looking. We have a Karcher...? Is soapy water ok or something stronger like Jeyes better.....

  • Wouldn't recommend using a power washer. If you have a vented ridge, the water will get into your conservatory. You'd be better off with one of those squeegee's on a long pole and plenty of soapy water.

My son used a pressure washer on my roof and it ended up costing me £450 to have it replaced !
  • I take it the polycarb came apart, which can happen when it gets brittle.
  • karcher do a rottary brush attachement which would be ok but dont use the karcher only as stated above .you can also buy window cleaning brushes which you connect to hose pipe similiar to those used on office blocks.if you send me a private message i can give you our web address which has conservatory cleaning tips

There is no problem using a pressure washer on a glass roof. I do ours regularly.
  • Unless you have a vented ridge in which case water will ingress into your conservatory through the air channels.Power washers can also strip off loose sealant.
