I prefer to think of myself as more of a supermarket tart lol. I take MIL to Tesco on a Wednesday - where I hand over my vouchers. On a Tuesday I go to Slimming World, and near to my class is a Morrisons, so I pop in there every couple of weeks for some BOGOF's and bargains. On a Saturday morning I take one of my sons to football training, and often pop along to Sainsbury's for the paper, bread, milk and any special offers I spot. My local Post Office is in a Co-op, so if I go there, I see what is on special, or I might go in specifically if I see a flyer with a good offer on. And then there is Lidl every few weeks....

Since I have become more OS, I now shop for fruit and veg as well as meat, from my local market/shops. I know there are items that Tesco's as well as other sipermarkets, use as loss leaders - bananas being one. So, I often go to different greengrocers, get the best deals, but then still pop into the little tesco's to get their bananas and value carrots :D

I now use Aldi's and Lidl's quite frequently, but will often visit both on the same trip, again picking the cheapest form each one :D

Ever so occasionally, like a couple of weeks ago, because of everything that has been going on in my life, time conspired against me, so I was forced to do the whole shop at Tesco's - it felt really weird and I still missed some stuff off as I knew that I could manage until I went to the market.

Oh I feel mighty sorry for myself now.... I live in a small city (v.small...have seen larger villages lol!) which really doesn't need to have lots of supermarkets. We've got a Sainsbury and a Lidl, an Irish one called Dunnes and also one called "The Good Food Shop" which used to be SuperValu. The choice is bad...the Dunnes and Good Food Shop have terrible fruit and veg, and most other things are a few pennies more expensive than Sainsbury's. So I go to Lidl a lot, but find that their healthy choices are non-existant, eg they don't do brown pasta/brown rice so end up just buying fruit, veg and cat litter there. In their favour they do usually have lots of N.Ireland produced veg. There is one fruit/veg shop in the city, but since i work I only get Saturday to get to it - or put it another way, rarely get to it as I have better things to do on a Saturday than push and shove my way around a greengrocer! There are five or six butchers, but same story as per the greengrocer.

There is no Aldi, no Netto, no Asda, no Morrisons, no Tesco, no Waitrose....

The Sainsbury is usually totally over-run at the weekend as shoppers from southern Ireland come and stock up (especially with booze!). You'd be lucky to get parked there at all as the Sainsbury is part of a new shopping centre.

So in answer to the original question...no I don't go cherry picking! I end up either making do, making my own or improvising...or getting robbed in sainsbury's!!! Oh we have two little Boots stores but neither has an Advantage card machine...grrr!!! And a little M&S with a food bit (but no booze) which I don't even consider cos we all know it costs a bomb!
