Hi Everyone
If you had the chance to go to any of the following coutries for a holiday for 2 weeks where would you go to and why. :-
Bulgaria
Italy
Greece
Canary Islands (Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura etc)
Mainland Spain
Baleric Islands(Ibiza, Menorca, majorca etc)
Portugal
Cyprus
Turkey
Germany
I think that is all so far on the list to go to. Not really sure when I will be going, perhaps later in the year, sort of Oct/ Nov time.
Cheers

If you want the sun, I'd suggest going to one of the Canary Islands at that time of year.0

Or if you're male and enjoy a bevvy or two (or three, or four, or...) then Oktoberfest is for you!
The girls aren't bad either!

A bit out of season for some of Greece, my parents used to live in Zakynthos, October onwards was dead, lots of places closed, weather not as good either.
Ok if you want a quiet not too hot holiday though, & eat in the restaurants that the locals eat in.
You'd probably need to go to one of the busier resorts like Laganas to have very much open at that time of the year.Comping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

Portugal will have cooled down a little, but it is still a lovely place to go.
Two weeks is quite a long time, perhaps you could do a twin centre?
Going off topic (sorry!), I'm thinking of basing myself in Portugal for a month in the winter. They do some pretty fantastic deals for long stays! xGone ... or have I?0 -
I'd plump for Italy.
Greece and Turkey will be closed.
Germany thou lovely will be cold.
Spain full of OAP spending their winters abroad
Italy even thou the weather won't be great has a fantastic train service and you can visit loads of places, Rome, Venice, Florence. It will be out of season so it will be cheaper.
P.S nothing wrong with OAP's btw but when on holiday you don't want to be the youngest by 50 years.
But if you want sun its got to be the C Islands. But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more0 -
We went to Canada-Niagara falls at that time of year, last year. It was actually really hot and we brought the wrong clothes with us (had to buy some out there). Cheap flights with Globespan, hire car and with the exchange rate it was cheap once there. We stayed with family-but a lot of cheap accomodation advertised (Howard Johnsons). Flew into Hamilton (JC MUNRO-they call it Toronto, but is about 50 mins to 1 hour drive to Niagara. Go over the border to New York state, for even cheaper shopping. Lots to do and see there. The fall is a lovely time of year there.0
